Police officers ATTACKED with fireworks during busy Bonfire Night

Heaton Park bonfire and fireworks display 2018 LIVE

The fireworks look fantastic. They’ve been choreographed to music, which right now is Queen’s The Show Must Go On

We’re just watching some fire dancers, while the anticipation builds for the massive display (featuring 10,000 fireworks this year)

“Really busy for our crews. Many of these are unattended bonfires or kids thinking it is smart to set stuff on fire – it isn’t. Big shout out to our crews working hard out there.”

After some extensive research, I can confirm that the universal going rate across all stalls for chips and gravy is four quid. It still had to be done.

“One women just came over to tell officers she was fed up of it happening every night. Keeping people awake. Scared to walk through the park.”

There are security points at the entrance tonight, and if you bring a big bag it will be searched. It’s still early of course, with a steady flow of people, but we’ve seen zero queues so far.

“Just in case you need a reminder – NEVER throw fireworks into a bonfire, it is very dangerous.”
