Somerset County Coroner Wallace Miller confirmed to 6 News two people are dead following a crash on U.S. 219.
Officials report a three-vehicle crash with entrapment along the Mason Dixon Highway south of Salisbury in Elk Lick Township.
All lanes were closed between the Maryland state line and Ord Street in Salisbury Borough, and officials on scene say the highway will remain closed into the night as Pennsylvania State Police continue their investigation.
The names of the victims are not being released pending notification of family members. Autopsies are scheduled for Friday morning.
Multiple fire departments responded to the scene including Salisbury, Meyersdale. Units from Garrett County, Maryland were also called in to assist.
