Man left with fractured skull after Preston assault

Man attacked with iron bar after leaving New Hall Lane takeaway

It happened between 8.30pm and 10pm on Sunday night, when a 27-year-old man was walking to a friends house with his girlfriend after buying some takeaway food at Charcoal Hut on New Hall Lane.

When the pair have reached Salisbury Street, four men dressed in dark clothing with their faces covered appeared from an alleyway and confronted them.

The victim was hit on the head and arm with an iron bar, leaving him with a fractured skull. The woman was unharmed.

DC Fabian Spence from Preston Police said: The victim has been left with some serious injuries to the extent that they will require surgery.

His girlfriend wasnt hurt.  They carried on to an address on the same street where the occupants called an ambulance.

Hed just got a takeaway with his girlfriend when four men attacked him near New Hall Lane last night (Sunday 25th November).

Four men are being hunted after a man was attacked after buying a takeaway with his girlfriend in New Hall Lane.

Preston Police were called to Salisbury Street, in St Matthews, after four men dressed in dark clothing and with their faces covered jumped the man.

His girlfriend was unharmed in the attack which took place between 8.30pm and 10pm on Sunday (25 November).

Asked whether the attack was linked to an attack reported during the early hours of Friday (25 November) off New Hall Lane, a police spokeswoman said: “At this moment in time we have no reason to suggest that the two incidents have been linked. However, we are keeping an open mind and are exploring all possibilities.”
