Should be in the army on the front line – These Nottingham Forest fans praise midfielders battling qualities

Nottingham Forest earned yet another draw yesterday, their sixth in ten Championship matches, to leave them one point adrift of the top six.

Their opponents, Blackburn Rovers, are draw specialists themselves, picking up their sixth of the season too. In an evenly balanced match, a draw was perhaps the right result although both sides had chances to win.

Lewis Grabban missed a penalty and opened the scoring, but Bradley Dack and Adam Armstrong gave the home side the lead with quarter of an hour to spare. Grabban then bagged his fourth league goal of the season from the spot to secure the draw. It was enthralling stuff, end to end and well worth the admission fee.

Blackburn could, and perhaps should, have taken a 34th minute lead through Danny Graham. He strode through the defence and beat Pantilimon with a lovely placed effort, only for Jack Colback to fly through the air like superman and clear the ball with his head.

It was a moment that typified the on-loan Newcastle man’s resilience and determination not to lose. It also ensure he got a lot of praise on twitter from some Forest fans last night, the best of which you can see below.

Seems Colback had another great game today yet certain people were saying they cant see what he offers???? I think hes showing us exactly what he offers and why he should be starting????#NFFC

Not a bad result, must get an away win though. Much more combative, physical performance, we certainly look harder to beat. 4 in 3 for Grabban, Colback and Guedioura a very decent pairing at CM, with yacob yet to play. Not bad ????

‘The board will have little option’ – Steve Bruce linked with Aston Villa exit: The Verdict

Nottingham Forest boss Aitor Karanka had no doubts over Lewis Grabban stepping up to take his side’s second penalty of the afternoon.

Grabban found the back of the net to rescue a point for the visitors having missed from 12 yards in the first half.

The striker had scored Forests opening goal, before Rovers turned things around courtesy of goals from Adam Armstrong and Bradley Dack.

“I had no doubt. When you sign a player, you know his ability, his quality and his character,” said Karanka of Grabban.
