In each category therell be an editors choice winner and a readers choice winner — all to be announced on 5 December 2018. The readers choice winner receives the truly prestigious status of being an Eater fan favourite. The editors choice winner will receive an incredible large format tomato can trophy, of which there are currently only five known examples outside of North America.

In each category, there will be an editors choice winner and a readers choice winner — all to be announced on December 5, 2018. The readers choice winners get unlimited bragging rights as Eater fan favorites. The editors choice winners will each receive an illustrious tomato can trophy, as is the tradition around here, plus a splashy feature on Eater Nashville in 2019.

Beyond that, throughout the course of next year, Eater London will publish a feature on each of the editors choice winners. A bit like this.

Now, without any further ado, its time to vote for the readers choice winner in the Restaurant of the Year category; come back each day this week to vote in four more categories. Polls will be open for 24 hours (beginning at 10 a.m. each day) and will be strictly policed for funny business.

Now is the time to vote for the readers choice winner in the Restaurant of the Year category. This poll will be open for only 24 hours and will be (much more) strictly policed (than last year) to legislate against any attempts at impropriety (from PR companies.)

One note on nominee eligibility: The Awards focus on restaurants opened in the past year or that had recently turned on the lights when the 2017 Eater Awards were compiled (October 2017).

Will it be Nieves Barragán Mohachos Michelin-starred three-in-one Spanish restaurant Sabor, the follow-up project from the team behind last years Restaurant of the year; Shoreditchs red-hot Basque-inspired grill restaurant; the third project from the team behind Michelin-starred The Clove Club; the citys pre-eminent Xian Chinese restaurants sister site in Spitalfields; or Andrew Wongs eagerly anticipated second restaurant in the Bloomberg Arcade?

A few notes on nominee eligibility: As with all Eater Boston coverage, the Eater Awards cover not just Boston proper but Cambridge, Somerville, and a bit beyond. Secondly, the Awards focus solely on restaurants that opened in the past year (including openings from late 2017, after nominations closed for that years awards, which means that late 2018 openings will be considered next year). And thirdly, nominees are not repeated among the five awards categories, so if youre wondering why your favorite restaurant isnt included today, keep an eye out: It may appear in one of the other categories, which will all be announced over the course of this week.
