Liverpool transfer news: Pascal Gross flattered by Jurgen Klopp interest

Fernando Torres and Liverpool may not have ended their association in the most positive manner but in this case time appears to be a great healer.

The manner of Torres £50million deadline-day departure to rivals Chelsea at the end of January 2011 rankled but both parties seem to have moved past that in recent seasons, instead looking back glowingly at his time at Anfield.

Torres was once the golden boy of the Kop, scoring 65 goals in his 102 Premier League games for the Merseyside club between 2007 and 2011.

Brightons Pascal Gross says he is honoured when he sees media reports linking him with a move to Liverpool – but he has not heard from the Reds about any potential transfer.

He told Goal.com: Of course, it is an honour when such rumours arise, but I have not heard anything concrete.

It seems as though the former Liverpool man has thrown his weight behind their campaign to win the Premier League and Champions League. They are currently top, although Manchester City have a game in hand.

The striker netted 65 Premier League goals for Liverpool – 81 in total – during a three-and-a-half-year spell at the club before leaving to join bitter rivals Chelsea, where he was still unable to taste top-flight success.
