OUSMANE DEMBELEs link to Arsenal should not be taken too seriously, according to Arseblog contributor James McNicholas.
The Frenchman is reportedly in Barcelona’s bad books after repeatedly turning up late for team meetings.
And Arsenal are believed to be one of several clubs interested in taking Dembele off of the La Liga champions’ hands.
However, according to football writer McNicholas, it is unlikely they will offload a player they forked out so much on.
“It’s a little bit like the stuff we was hearing about [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang before his January move to Arsenal,” he told the Arseblog Arsecast podcast.
“I would be surprised though, just because he was such a massive investment, if Barcelona sanctioned a loan deal for him. He cost them £100m.
“Look, he’s obviously a top player, this story’s been rumbling around for about a year now that he’s not settled at Barcelona and that we might be in the market for him.
“Ousmane knows that football is a privilege for every player, maybe he should concentrate more and be more responsible regarding certain things.” he told reporters ahead of Uruguay’s clash with France tonight.
“There are examples of professionalism at Barca that he can draw inspiration from. He’ll continue to learn, with that self-confidence that will enable him to succeed at Barcelona.”
“All these criticisms make me laugh. It had already begun with a so-called delay at the meeting before the Champions League match against Inter,” he told RMC Sport last week.
“I am surprised very serious newspapers can report this information because Ousmane didn’t arrive late.
