It looks like Jurgen Klopp could select a midfield double-pivot against Fulham that features returning captain Jordan Henderson and fit again summer signing Naby Keita.
The Guinean didn’t come off the bench midweek against Red Star, while Hendo wasn’t even available as a sub, but the pair could be named in the side following the horrible 2-0 defeat that featured an incredibly lacklustre midfield.
James Milner, Gini Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana were appalling and at least two of those, if not all three, need to step out, according to James Pearce of the Echo.
“There will certainly be changes for Sunday’s clash with Fulham,” he claimed. “Having sat out the past four matches, Henderson is poised to make his comeback after returning to fitness and Keita should also be involved.
“Some are quick to knock Henderson but Liverpool have certainly missed him. Fabinho and Shaqiri will also be fresh and eager to feature.”
We’d like to see Klopp use the 4-2-3-1 formation which saw us score four goals against Red Star and Cardiff at Anfield.
This would include a central pairing of Henderson and Keita (although we’d be equally happy if Fabinho was used ahead of the captain) with Xherdan Shaqiri, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in interchanging roles behind Mo Salah.
