Derby Handed Away Tie In FA Youth Cup Third Round

Rovers, Burnley and Stanley all handed home ties in FA Youth Cup

The FA Youth Cup third-round draw was made at Wembley on Friday afternoon, as clubs from the Premier League and Championship, including Rovers, join the competition.

With 32 ties drawn out at this stage, there are a number of eye-catching matches to look out for over the coming weeks, with ties to be played by Saturday 15th December.

It has been confirmed that Rovers will face the winner of Cheltenham Town and Gillingham, who go head to head on Wednesday 14th November.

Last season saw the young Blues reach the quarter-final stage of the competition, eventually losing to Lancashire rivals Blackpool.

We will provide further details for our third-round tie, including a date and kick-off time, in due course.

Rovers, beaten quarter-finalists last season, will host either Cheltenham Town or Gillingham at Ewood Park, while Burnley will welcome either Oxford United or Barnet to Turf Moor.

Stanley, who beat Tranmere Rovers 3-0 in round one, will have to make it past Notts County at the Wham Stadium on Monday if they are to progress in to the third round.
