The early Bolton v Swansea City team news as Graham Potter reveals what Jefferson Montero keeps telling him

STEVE Parkin bit back at speculation over Phil Parkinson’s future as Bolton boss, insisting: “It won’t affect us!”

The Wanderers assistant took on press duties yesterday in what could be a crucial weekend at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Swansea City continue to perform well in the Championship under Graham Potter, with the Swans currently in ninth place just seven points off leaders Leeds United, and with a trip to Bolton Wanderers next up at the weekend.

Ken Anderson gave some backing to Parkinson and his staff after last weekend’s defeat to Aston Villa – but talk of a change of manager has refused to die down.

Wanderers could find themselves in the bottom three of the Championship over the international break if they fail to get a result against Swansea City.

But after so long out, should Potter look to move the player on in the January transfer window and if that is the case, how much would the player be valued at?

According to our recent poll, a large majority of Swansea fans want manager Graham Potter to stick with Connor Roberts at right wing for the trip to Bolton on Saturday.

I’d imagine £5m, would be a fair price for the striker – and that is the maximum I feel they will get.

Swansea are sitting ninth in the Championship table after their 2-1 loss to Rotherham last Saturday, but Potter’s side should really have killed the game off after striker Oliver McBurnie put them ahead in the 25th minute.

Hes been out for a while and his value has certainly dropped since being relegated from the Premier League.

Unfortunately for the travelling fans that day, the Swans pressed the self-destruct button and gave away two penalties in the last 15 minutes, which 22-year-old Rotherham substitute Ryan Manning duly converted.

When he is on form he is unplayable but he hasnt shown that since his return to the Liberty Stadium.

Swansea fans though wanted Potter to keep the faith with Roberts rather than bringing in one of his many options to replace the Welsh international.

Joel Asoro, Barrie McKay, Nathan Dyer, Luciano Narsingh and Wayne Routledge are all available to the former Ostersunds boss, but 67 per cent of Swansea fans still voted for it to be 23-year-old Roberts in the starting XI at the University of Bolton Stadium.
