The man, identified as Ross A. Williamson of Bolton, Conn., was located about one mile north of Ballston Beach at about 7:40 a.m., according to Truro police and the Cape & Islands district attorney’s office.
The Office of the State Medical Examiner is investigating, but his death appears accidental, the DA’s office said in a statement.

State Police, Truro police and fire officials and Coast Guard rescue crews began searching for the man at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The search was suspended when it got dark on Saturday and resumed Sunday morning.
Local and State Police are investigating the incident, along with the National Park Service, which helps patrol the Cape Cod National Seashore.
Truro beaches were closed to swimming Saturday until further notice, police said in a Facebook post.

Ross Williamson, 26, of Bolton, Connecticut was found around 7:40 a.m. Sunday, one mile north of Ballston Beach in Truro, Massachusetts.
Williamson was reported missing from the waters of Ballston Beach at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday, where he had been swimming with his mother and was said to be in distress.
A response boat crew from the Provincetown Coast Guard station and an air crew from the Cape Cod Air Station responded.
Crews searched the waters off Ballston Beach in Truro on Saturday, looking for a missing 26-year-old man.
A Massachusetts State Police helicopter, the Truro Police Department, and a dive team from the Sandwich Fire Department also assisted.
The Coast Guard had searched the waters Saturday for the missing man, but suspended those efforts at night before resuming Sunday morning.
